3 Ingredient Healthy Vegan ‘Cheese’

Vegan Cheese!

The next best thing to cheese! This Vegan Cheese is made with only 3 ingredients and is super quick and simple to make. It has a texture similar to parmesan cheese and can be sprinkled on popcorn, used in recipes, or topped on your favourite vegan dishes. Whether you’re vegan, lactose intolerant, or trying to cut down on dairy, this Vegan Cheese is the perfect substitute.

The key flavour boosting ingredient here is nutritional yeast. Not only does nutritional yeast have a nutty flavour similar to cheese, it has so many nutritional benefits. Improved digestion due to probiotics and improved immune function due to the many minerals and vitamins are just two of the many benefits. Nutritional yeast also provides protein, iron, and an abundance of B vitamins. It is commonly found in bulk food stores, health stores, and some larger supermarkets.

Made by pairing almonds and cashews, this Vegan Cheese is a much healthier alternative to dairy and provides extra protein to your meal. This ‘Cheese’ is so versatile, it can be used in so many amazing ways!

Healthy and quick Vegan Cheese made with 3 ingredients!

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup of mixed cashews and almonds skins removed
  • 1 tablespoon nutritional yeast
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Add mixed cashews and almonds, nutritional yeast, and salt to a blender or food processor.
  • Pulse until all ingredients are combined and finely ground. Store in the fridge for up to a few weeks.

Notes

This recipe makes a small batch but can be easily multiplied if you're serving more people or would like to make more in advance for later use.
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a couple weeks.
